Dalkeith House has been completely renovated to provide a truly lovely holiday home. The house has beautifully proportioned rooms with high ceilings and many rooms still have the original cornicing. The owners have decorated the house with a mixture of traditional and contemporary  furnishings. The kitchen is very modern and provides everything you will need during your stay. Located in the centre of this small Scottish Borders village you can enjoy the best of both worlds, there are some local shops and restaurants all within walking distance and the countryside is literally on your doorstep.
The TV room has a huge wide screen 3DHD T.V as well as 3dDVD player and gaming; PS3 and Xbox  There is a lovely more formal sitting room which has an open fireplace. There is also a formal dining room as well as breakfast room which has a door leading to the very pretty walled garden.

To reserve the property your can call us on 01845 597614. We are open from 9am - 8.30pm weekdays and 9 - 5pm at weekends. Alternatively please fill out the form below and we will contact you. You may also reserve weekly booking online (please call to reserve weekend breaks).

Weekly bookings are from Friday to Friday. Weekend bookings are from 4pm Friday until 4pm on Sunday or 10am on Monday. Mid week bookings are from 4pm Monday until 10am Friday at 70% of the weekly total.

Please make sure you have read our Booking Terms & Conditions We recommend that you take out Holiday Cancellation Insurance.

The world-class 7stanes mountain bike trails are minutes from the house offering various trails with differing degrees of difficulty. There is a skills area to practise MTB techniques and plenty of forest trails for those who prefer much more leisurely cycling or walking.  Bike hire is available locally.
A short drive away is Kielder Forest & Water Park with a further 28 miles of safe cycle routes and walking trails. Further afield is Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage site, offering a fabulous day out and a truly memorable experience.

Rock UK the local activity centre  will be happy to indulge you if you want to try abseiling, kayaking, fencing or archery, see their web site for a full list of activities.
If the waters are running then try your hand at fishing for sea trout or salmon on the rivers Liddel and Esk, permits can be bought in the village during season.

Hawick is famous for its textiles where you can buy cashmere or visit Drumlanrig Tower to understand more about the textile history or visit Wilton House exploring their beautiful gardens.
Langholm, the birthplace of Thomas Telford, offers perfect walking country. Climb to the top of surrounding hills for superb views.
Explore the ruins of both Melrose and Dryburgh Abbeys. Visit Abbotsford House and gardens, the home of Sir Walter Scott. Traquir House always has events and surprising activities – their home made brew is very tasty and makes great pressies.
At Harestanes spend some time visiting the craft workshops and don’t leave without popping into Woodside Walled garden, a gem of a nursery, indulge in home baking and a pot of tea.
Gretna is also close and offers a mix of traditional gift shops and shopping outlets.
